The Babaà Jumper No. 17
It’s officially roll-neck season, which means all I want in my closet is a Babaà No. 17. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, I don’t own a Babaà.
So, I’ve been scouring Ravelry for knitting patterns that feature the same elements. High turtle/roll neck, drop shoulders, slouchy fit, and thick ribbed hems are all non-negotiable.
Here are 5 patterns that fit the brief:
Winters Pullover by Ozetta
Sweater No. 11 by My Favourite Things Knitwear
Hannah’s Babaà Dupe by Hannah Park
Cecil Sweater by Moreca Knit
Uno Sweater by Gregory Fibers
Each of these patterns incorporates the design elements that I’m looking for here. That said. they’re all different from one another.
Part of the beauty of knitting is the level of customisation you have. So, any of these pattern suggestions can be tweaked and modified to create the perfect piece for you.
I’d love to know if anyone else is tempted to knit a cosy roll neck at the the moment! If you are, what pattern will you use?

I love all of them! But I’m short of stature with a short neck to match, so I’m not sure which of them would be a good choice. Not that it would stop me, mind you.
